Five top tips to achieve your business’s New Year resolutions
The most common business-related New Year resolutions I hear are:
- I want to increase my audience and reach
- I want to improve my sales
- I want to make my business more successful
These are all different things, and although there are specifics for each, they effectively all have a similar solution and that’s about increasing your business’s visibility.
If you increase your business’s visibility, more people will become aware of you, and start to follow you, increasing your audience and reach. If you continue to nurture that audience you’re more likely to attract the right people to your business who are looking to buy your service or product, therefore increasing your sales, and in turn, making your business more successful.
So, how can you increase your business’s visibility? Well, here are five top tips which you can choose to plan into your business strategy for this new year…
1. Commit to networking events
Whether it’s digital or in-person networking, it’s important to plan regular time to meet new business owners or potential customers. Use networking to build relationships, ask questions, refer people and find out about other business owners. Connect with them on LinkedIn, and arrange separate 1:1’s where you can focus more on getting to know each business owner and helping to refer them to relevant clients.
2. Build a manageable marketing strategy
Continue to communicate with your new followers by posting relevant social media posts. You could consider setting up a lead magnet on your website to encourage potential customers to hand over their email list, therefore creating a unique list of potential clients that are specifically interested in your business. If you want to set up an email marketing strategy, but feel you need some assistance, I can help with this. Find out more about this service here
3. Check your pricing strategy aligns with the industry standard
If you sell your service too cheaply, will more potential customers be suspicious of its quality? Or will you be inundated with low-value clients, and therefore overworked and underpaid? If you over-price your products, are you pricing out your ideal clients? Are you reducing your potential audience size too much?
4. Upselling or cross-selling your products and services
A great way to increase your business’s sales is to upsell or cross-sell your products or services at the point of customer purchase. This could be at a webshop checkout, in person, over a 1:1 Zoom call, or in email conversations.
5. Make sure your website is optimised and up-to-date
Having a well-designed and optimised website will work wonders for your business, as it will communicate what you do, to your website visitors. Sure, you can tell people by word of mouth what you do, but having the information clearly on your website will communicate this to anyone visiting your website, therefore not relying on you being there in person to tell them. Make sure all of your products and services are available on your website and that there are clear call-to-actions where you can be contacted easily. If you’re not sure if your website is optimised, I have a website review service which can help you understand what you need to improve. Find out about the service here
