Is it OK to design your own business website?
Well, yes, it is.
Yep, you read that right…
I’m a web designer, but I’m telling you it’s OK to design your own website 🤯
Why am I telling you this?
Well…When you’re a new business it’s understandable that you don’t want to invest in a web designer to design your website. After all, you’re not sure if your business is going to be successful, and no one wants to waste money, do they?
It’s perfectly fine to design your own website, just ignore all the frowns you get from some other web designers 😜
But, you should invest in your new business, right?
Yep, you definitely should invest in a new business idea if you’re serious about it, but there’s just so much that you ‘have’ to invest in, it’s overwhelming.
So only invest in what you need to invest in initially, and for most people, you don’t need to invest in a massive website design before you’ve even got your first client.
You don’t need a website to start selling your business.
But when do you need a website then?
I always say a great time to invest in a website is when:
You’ve been in business for 1-2 years
You have a long list of ideal clients that you have served, or currently serving
You’ve got a clear idea of the direction of where you want your business to go
You’re feeling embarrassed by your website, and know that you need some help to love it again
You want to start to regularly get clients through your website
Then is a great time to consider a professionally designed website.
